Yoga My Way

Last night I took my first yoga class on in the comfort of my living room with world famous teacher Elena Brower (BADASS). I only had 30 minutes and apparently that's all I needed to get my yoga on.  It was so nice not to have to get in the cold car, park, chat before class, walk in late....etc.

I've been wanting to try this for awhile but honestly, money has been SO tight that I didn't want to start my free 15 day trial until at least 15 days before my first payday at the new job. Yeah, I am officially that poor right now.

After my 15 free trial is over, I can take unlimited classes for $18/month. CHEAP. Drop-in classes in Boulder are about $18 a pop right now and at least $100/month. I'm not complaining about these prices - get it - but I just don't have the cash flow right now.

The sound was good and the HD video quality was better. YogaGlo is a real studio in Santa Monica, as you can see in class previews below. It can get packed, and I like that. YogaGlo really has something for everyone, offering all asanas styles (hatha, ashtanga, BASICS, anusara, kundalini, meditative, yin).

I'll check back in after my first month and let you all know how often I'm practicing / how I'm liking it. Just like a real sutdio, each week fresh classes are added.  You also have access to all of the past seems. I'll find out more and report back.

I'm going to be honest with you, I practiced in my underwear and nasa t shirt with Modern Family on mute...seriously. But, when I do get to take class at the studio/go to the gym this is my favorite outfit (when it's clean I'm all, "YESSS!!!").

The Lucy pants are sliming and don't budge in class or on the treadmill and the Lulu racerback is great because it's super thin and light, and its fun to layer with crazy neon colored bras. Dear boys,  these tanks are excellent gifts for the every lady you love! Moms, sisters, friends, lovers. Take my word for it.

See yourself giving YogaGlo a try? I'm just curious: what level yoga do you think you practice at? I'm a solid level 2, but still learn loads in a basics/level 1.

Get some!

  1. i LOVE the lulu racerback. i pretty much wear it whenever i am trying to get my exercise on!

  2. That's a really great concept I haven't heard of it! I am not a yoga person, though I do like pilates - I wonder if they have similar Pilates online classes?!

  3. I do yoga on wii fit and it works out pretty well. ;) I figure I'll get the same challenge minus teacher scrutinizing for free. Spending money on classes isn't in the budget for me these days either.

  4. What an interesting concept! I am a fellow yogi myself but always go to the classes. Can't wait to hear more!

  5. Hi Patty,

Welcome welcome! We're so glad to hear that you are still able to continue your yoga practice through our online classes. Sometimes life tends to get in the way, and our practice is no longer priority... but that's when you really need those moments to yourself! In the mean time, keep Glo-ing away at home, and good luck with your new job!

Thank you tons for your post,

  6. I have never done yoga but I have always wanted to try it. I can't believe you can do it online. That's great :)

  7. I never heard of this before, glad you mentioned it ....I might look into this soon! I am about to have my first yoga class next week ... my friend is teaching it to finish getting her required hours before she's certified (so I'm down for the freebie!) BUT then she's moving in a few months... so if I stick with it and don't break my body... I'll need something like this after she's gone.

  8. New to your blog and so excited about this post! I adore yoga, but sometime it's hard to squeeze in a class at my favorite studio and I'd love to be able to have an option like this at home-- and really, $18 a month is the price of one class so it seems great. I'll have to check it out and report back!!
